  3. Also look at the construction and features of the glove—examine its webbing, pocket, padding and wrist adjustment. Talk to the salesperson about which glove features will be most important to you, depending on which position you’ll be playing.
  4. Look for a glove that is made of high quality leather and that is quite sturdy (but not too sturdy—you don’t want a glove that will take a million years to break in!). Keep in mind that new gloves that come broken in can get worn out quite quickly.
  5. Consider how much money you can spend on a baseball glove. A good glove will generally cost somewhere around $50 or $60. If you’re a casual player, don’t spend more than $80 dollars on a glove.
  6. When you buy your baseball glove, you should buy a conditioner cream to go along with it. Use sparingly to care for your glove, and be sure the cream does not contain silicon.

Caution

Beware of gloves made of cheap synthetic materials—these gloves—in general—wear out very quickly. However, this type of baseball glove can be good for growing youngsters who are just getting into the game.
